Misho+Associates architecture showcases an intimate relationship between form and function. The design is purified to its essence and the architectural form speaks directly to the function of spaces in a programmatic sense. Simple lines and expressive materials form the palette for the interiors. With environmental design at the forefront of each design, Misho+Associates seeks to engage in a dialogue between architectural form and context, an unrelenting attempt to understand how simple natural processes can inform architectural form.
Misho+Associates approach to architecture is also an embodiment of a shift in lifestyle paradigm (patterns/standards/concepts). Based on an understanding of the life cycle of the spaces and the ever-changing use of space through time, Misho+Associates architecture is designed to stand the test of time and to evolve with time. In the face of a changing industry, Misho+Associates architecture highlights environmental initiatives and credentials that are becoming increasingly critical to the sustainability of the projects we undertake. Design for now. Design for later. Design with nature.

Testimonials
Misho's capacity to cover both the biggest of ‘big picture’ issues whilst simultaneously remaining across the tiniest of details is staggering. His holistic approach to looking at design and build is backed by decades in the industry, which means there is never a situation where he isn't able to respond and problem solve with deft skill, quick action and professional knowledge.
The building sector is a classic environment where things don't go to plan, and as a client, one needs responsive and thoughtful agility that has 'got your back'- something Misho delivers on in spades. Having Misho in your corner offers confidence and comfort you rarely find elsewhere.
His capacity to visualise and deliver a design with depth, connection, and practical value for money means you can approach the build process with budget surety. This experience is only sometimes guaranteed when engaging with an architect. So whether it’s a commercial building and layout that incorporates human-centred design, a premise with public and visitor flow that considers where and how people will move and interact with the space, or a residence that melds and is inclusive of a structure to offer a settled and appropriate presence in the landscape, then you won’t access a more unique set of skills and experience than can be found through Misho. The strength of my endorsement speaks to his capabilities to straddle what have become disparate professional functions such as interior design, environmental design, and landscaping design, which you can access in one inspirational package through Misho and Associates.
He is a straight talker and will help advise on the realism of prices to build and the implications of your design ideas. His industry network is extensive and their respect for his skills is obvious when you see other professionals and trade supplier’s interactions with him.
If you want your project designed and delivered, then I can't speak highly enough of Misho and Associates. The complexity of master site planning and on-ground delivery of some large-scale capacity improvements at Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary has only been possible and only been possible to the quality, scale, and cost because of Misho. His sensitivity and inclusiveness of environmental considerations make him a standout, offering a viewpoint often missed in the design and construction business.
My wife and I engaged Misho in 2003 to design our dream home on the beachfront of Rose Bay. We had been recommended Misho based on several friends' experience working with him in the past. At the time, he was known not only as a talented young architect but also as someone with a strong sensibility for the environment.
Our brief to Misho was to design a home that was more than just a structure. We wanted a minimalist contemporary home that would stand out, using natural materials and surfaces like concrete, copper, wood, glass, and natural stone. We also desired a home with strong Asian influences, one that would be deeply connected to its surroundings and bathe in as much natural light as possible. Misho's design not only met but exceeded our expectations, creating a home that is a true masterpiece.
The home was completed in 2006 and is an absolute work of art. It is highly sculptural with wrap-around copper roofs and is designed as two structures separated by a natural pond that runs between them. Some of the property's highlights were the beautiful concrete exposed walls that highlighted our art collection and the external wood battens that softened the overall look and feel of the home. We were also delighted by an exquisite library that went two floors in height and added significant warmth to the family home.
Working with Misho was a true collaboration. He didn't just design a house for us, he designed our home. Misho is someone who truly listens to his clients, valuing their input and incorporating their wish list into his overall design. His approach made the process a delight, and I wholeheartedly recommend him.
