Simple lines and expressive materials form the palette for the interiors. With environmental design at the forefront of each design, Misho+Associates seeks to engage in a dialogue between architectural form and context, an unrelenting attempt to understand how simple natural processes can inform architectural form.

Years of Experience
Project Taken
Misho's capacity to cover both the biggest of ‘big picture’ issues whilst simultaneously remaining across the tiniest of details is staggering. His holistic approach to looking at design and build is backed by decades in the industry, which means there is never a situation where he isn't able to respond and problem solve with deft skill, quick action and professional knowledge.

I had the pleasure of collaborating with Misho on numerous projects whilst working at the Hobart Airport, and I cannot emphasize enough the depth of his architectural expertise. Misho not only brings creative vision to the table but also a keen understanding of the practicalities involved in construction methodologies and costs. Working with Misho was a seamless experience; he listened attentively to our requirements and translated them into beautifully executed designs within our budget constraints. I highly recommend Misho for any architectural project where precision, creativity, and cost-efficiency are paramount.

We had to move to a cooler climate from our home in the Adelaide hills, and I selected my third architect for my final home, which was essential. It had to be sustainable and not add to the world's environmental issues. We now live in a house that allows us to ‘age in place’ and live as close to net zero as possible.

Most Australians probably don’t consider Tasmania anything special—or haven’t in the past—because it's far away and hard to get to. But Misho opened our eyes to the beauty. The house reflects how Misho uses colour to invigorate your sole. Misho emphasises that nature has explosions of colour as rejuvenation and pollination—an essential part of nature's life cycle. Our house is a reflection of this observation.

When Misho and Associates were engaged with the Zoo team, they presented out-of-the-box ideas. The underground building seemed unachievable, but Misho showed how it could be done within our budget.
Using mill waste timber to clad simple building structures was a brilliant aesthetic that helped soften and allow the structures to disappear. Misho emphasised that the “heroes” are the animals, not architecture. It’s all about children's experience and educating them about environmental conservation.

The Board selected Misho + Associates to design the expansion of the established Sydney Aquarium to reflect its next 40 years of life of the building and business on the foreshore of Darling Harbour. The fluid and innovative design was unexpected and energised the Board over the others in the limited design submission.

Having worked with Misho at Sydney Airport in the lead-up to the Sydney Olympics and seeing what he achieved with the entire development team, I had the opportunity to work with him again in Hobart. His integrity and drive for sustainability were core to his drive to create a sustainable building design and adaptive reuse. Most airports constantly change the existing built shell, which takes a specific skill. And Misho has that skill and understanding.
